Dexatrim Diet Pill Review

Dexatrim diet pills have been a staple on store shelves for years. The formulations have changed over the years to keep up with the latest diet supplement developments, including the FDA ban on ephedrine. All of the Dexatrim diet pill formulations are very similar, and most contain three core ingredients:

Green tea to boost metabolism
Chromium to suppress appetite and boost metabolism
• Ginseng to reduce fatigue

Let’s take a closer look at a few formulations: Dexatrim Natural Caffeine Free, Dexatrim Results, and Dexatrim Results Ephedrine Free.

Dexatrim Natural No Caffeine

The main thing that sets the No Caffeine formula apart from Dexatrim’s other products is it contains no green tea. In place of the caffeine-containing green tea, Dexatrim Natural No Caffeine contains:

Garcinia fruit to boost metabolism and reduce appetite
Bitter orange to boost metabolism and suppress appetite

Bitter orange is often used as a substitute for the FDA-banned ephedra. Unfortunately, bitter orange also carries some of the same health risks as ephedra, such as increased blood pressure and heart rate. Other side effects of Dexatrim Natural includes: dizziness, severe headache, shortness of breath, and nervousness. Dexatrim Natural should not be taken if you have high blood pressure.

Expect to pay about $18 per month for your fill of Dexatrim Natural No Caffeine diet pills.

Dexatrim Results

The Results formula consists of:

Green tea to boost metabolism
• Ginseng to reduce fatigue
• Vitamin B6 to increase energy and boost metabolism
• 5-HTP to reduce appetite

Results is the only Dexatrim product that contains 5-HTP. 5-HTP affects serotonin levels in the brain and is commonly used to treat depression. The jury is still out on if 5-HTP is an effective weight loss supplement. Expect to pay about $20 per month for Dexatrim Results diet pills. (Check current Dexatrim prices at Amazon.)

Dexatrim Results Ephedrine Free

Although this is the only formulation carrying the title Ephedrine Free, all of Dexatrim’s products are ephedrine free since the FDA banned ephedrine in 2004. Results Ephedrine Free contains the core ingredients of green tea and chromium, along with a slew of other ingredients including:

Bitter orange to boost metabolism and suppress appetite
• Yohimbe bark to boost metabolism
• Eleuthero root (siberian ginseng) to reduce fatigue
• Licorice root to reduce body fat
• Rutin acts as an antioxidant
• Kelp acts as an antioxidant
• Fenugreek seed to reduce appetite
• Hesperidin to reduce cholesterol
• Cocoa to reduce fluid retention

This diet pill is not a good option for people who have high blood pressure. There is little scientific evidence showing yohimbe bark helps with weight loss, but it does have the potential to dangerously raise blood pressure. The bitter orange and caffeine contained in this diet pill also may raise blood pressure.

Bottom Line on Dexatrim Diet Pills

Two Dexatrim products have been pulled from the market in recent years because the ingredients they contained, phenylpropanolamine and ephedra, were found unsafe by the FDA. Taking diet pills can be risky and there is little scientific evidence that shows any of the ingredients in diet pills will help you lose weight. Dexatrim’s formulations change like the wind, so be sure to read the bottle closely before buying anything.
